Terms of Service

Last updated October 20, 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and KeepVault LLC ("KeepVault", "we", "us") for using the KeepVault app and website. By creating an account or using KeepVault, you agree to them. Please also read our Privacy Policy.

1. What KeepVault is

KeepVault helps owners keep track of their cars: service schedules, reminders, recalls, documents, insurance details and estimated value. Some features use AI and third-party data. We're always improving KeepVault, so features may change, and we may add support for more than cars over time.

2. Your account

  • You must be at least 18 and able to agree to these terms.
  • Use an email address you control. You're responsible for activity on your account; keep access to your email secure.
  • Give accurate information, and only add cars and documents you own or are allowed to manage.

3. Free trial, plans and billing

  • Free trial: new subscriptions start with a 7-day free trial. A card is required. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your paid plan starts automatically and you'll be charged.
  • Automatic renewal: plans renew automatically each month or year until you cancel. Prices are shown before you subscribe; taxes may apply.
  • Cancel any time in the app or by emailing us. You keep access until the end of the period you've paid for. We don't give refunds for partial periods unless the law requires it.
  • Price changes: we'll tell you in advance, and the new price applies from your next renewal. You can cancel before it takes effect.
  • Payments are processed by our payment provider under its own terms.

4. Estimates, not professional advice

KeepVault gives you helpful information, but it can be wrong or out of date. In particular:

  • Service schedules are estimates based on typical intervals or the manufacturer's published schedule. Your owner's manual and dealer are the final word.
  • Recalls come from NHTSA and cover a model, not necessarily your car. Ask a dealer whether yours was fixed. Don't rely on KeepVault for safety-critical decisions.
  • Values are estimates from market data (dealer listings) or our own calculations. They aren't appraisals or offers to buy.
  • AI features (scanning VINs, invoices and odometers, tire checks, factory schedules) can make mistakes. Check what they fill in before you save it.
  • Ask KeepVault (the AI assistant) gives general information about cars, such as what a warning light usually means, likely causes of a problem or typical prices. It can't inspect your car and can be wrong. It isn't a diagnosis, a quote or professional advice. For anything that affects safety, stop driving if needed and have a qualified mechanic check the car.
  • Reminders depend on the dates and mileage you enter and on email delivery. You're still responsible for your registration, insurance, warranty and maintenance deadlines.

KeepVault isn't a mechanic, insurance agent, lawyer, appraiser or financial adviser.

5. Your content

Your photos, documents and information stay yours. You give us permission to store, process and display them only to run KeepVault for you (for example, to read a scanned invoice or show your documents to you). You can delete them at any time. Don't upload anything you don't have the right to share.

6. Using KeepVault fairly

  • Don't misuse the service: no breaking in, overloading, scraping, reverse engineering, or using it to break the law.
  • Don't use KeepVault to store other people's personal information without permission.
  • Don't resell KeepVault or the data in it (including market values from our data partners).

7. Third-party data and services

KeepVault uses information from others, including NHTSA (vehicle and recall data), MarketCheck (market values) and Wikimedia Commons (model photos, credited to their photographers under their licenses). We're not responsible for the accuracy of third-party data or for third-party services you choose to use.

8. Ending your account

You can delete your account any time in Settings, which deletes your data as described in our Privacy Policy. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put the service or others at risk; where reasonable, we'll tell you first.

9. Disclaimers and limits on liability

KeepVault is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we don't promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that every reminder, value, schedule or recall will be complete and accurate.

To the fullest extent the law allows, KeepVault won't be liable for indirect or consequential losses (such as a missed deadline, a voided warranty, a lapsed registration or a lower sale price), and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

10. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of California. Before filing a claim, please contact us so we can try to resolve it. Any dispute will be handled in the courts of [TODO: county], California.

11. Changes to these terms

If we make important changes, we'll tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. If you keep using KeepVault after that, the new terms apply.
